Sit. Stay. Good Dog!

If you adopted a dog at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, you're invited to enroll in a 7 week obedience class. The cost is $65 for the entire program and will be held for 7 consecutive Saturday mornings, October 28 through December 8, from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the shelter. Your dog must be at least 4 months old and preregistration is required. Please contact Greg Willey at the shelter (216-525-4827) if you're interested.

2nd Annual Canine Canal Walk

In spite of inclement weather, 110 dogs and their human friends participated in the second annual Carvel Canine Canal Walk and Pet Fair on Saturday August 19, 2006 and helped raised over $1000 for the shelter's Dick Goddard Best Friends' Fund to care for sick and injured shelter dogs. A big thank you goes to Carvel Ice Cream for sponsoring the event and to everyone who participated!

If you love dogs, consider volunteering at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. By helping to walk, socialize, exercise, and play with our many adoptable dogs, your efforts go a long in keeping them happy and well-adjusted while they wait to be adopted into permanent homes. Our next volunteer orientation is Saturday November 11, 2006 at 8 am at the shelter. Please contact Greg Willey, Volunteer Coordinator, at 216-525-4817 if you're interested! Thanks!

Find out more about me!

As featured on FOX8 TV with Dick Goddard Friday night, here is one of the lonely souls, looking for a good home. Call 216-525-4828 daily after 9am for current selection of dogs. The adoption fee is only $56, which includes license, vaccinations, spay/neuter & free dog food!

Show your support for saving shelter pets by ordering the new "Pet Friendly License Plate". Just a click away and $25 at www.petsohio.com. Be the first to acquire these plates for your vehicle and help Ohio's No More Homeless Pets Campaign.

By law, any monetary donations we receive go directly to our animals. Please remember to renew your dog license by Jan. 31st since it is our primary source of support.

What is the Dick Goddard Best Friends' Medical Relief Fund?

Best Friends Animal Society donated $5,000 to the shelter for a relief fund named after Fox News' Dick Goddard. It provides immediate care for injured dogs or sick puppies we find and hope to adopt. You can make a tax deductible donation too. Please contact Lesley DeSouza at 216-525-4813.
