Happy Tails!
My family adopted Kip in
February of 2006 from the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. Kip is a
miniature poodle and bichon frise mix. Ever since we adopted him, our
lives had been filled with that specialness that only a furry companion
can give. He has enriched our lives so much. His fun-loving personality
and comical nature make him simply adorable. We love him so much that
we call him our brother or son. My mother has composed several catchy
tunes in his honor. We have more pictures of him than pictures of me.
We have actually put together two whole scrapbooks and picture albums
which we call The Books of Kip and show to everyone who comes over. Kip
sleeps with us in one of our beds every night. My mother says he's like
our guardian angel when he sleeps on the cushions above our sleeper
couch. We fondly call him our angel creampuff. He's also a very good
watchdog and when he's not doing something else, sits on top of the
couch and looks out our front picture window and barks at anyone going
by on the sidewalk. We can't imagine our lives without Kip now and
could never want anything more from a dog. After seeing him on TV with
Dick Goddard, we knew he was the dog for us. The next day, we arrived
early at the shelter and adopted him right away. From that day on, we
have only continued to grow to love him more and more. He has set a
place in our hearts that could not be taken by any other dog. The
Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter couldn't have given us a more treasured
part of our lives and we will always remember the day we adopted Kip
into our family and how much joy, laughter, and love he has brought
into our lives and into the lives of all who meet him.

We adopted
Buddy, a Beagle mix, about six years ago. He was a thin,
quiet boy that knew a special trick...he would sit perfectly still and
balance a biscuit on his nose! When Buddy got to his
new home, him and I developed an immediate bond. He quickly
came out of his shell and in true Beagle fashion became an energetic
mischievous boy ruled by his nose.
Life with Buddy has been filled with fun, laughter and love.
Happiness to Buddy is walks in the park, stealing the toys from our
other dog, and just being by my side wherever I go. He greets
me with the same excited baying and tail wagging as soon as he sees me
and it does not matter if I had been gone for ten minutes or for a few
days. Whenever I am having a bad day or I am ill he stays by
my side and will not leave until I am feeling better. Even though he is
approaching eleven years old he still has the same happy go lucky
attitude and desire to play as a puppy.
Buddy continues to give me the gifts of loyalty, companionship and
unconditional love. He is more to me than just a dog, he is a
true friend.
Sincerely,

Meet Bernie (formerly
Sparky)! I adopted Bernie three weeks after my beloved
Fletcher James passed in 1/08. I wasn’t really looking to get
a new dog so soon; however, the house was just so empty and lonely
without him that I couldn’t resist taking a peek at what was out
there. I have always been an advocate of adopting dogs from
shelters or rescues so when I saw him smiling up at me from your
website I quickly made an appointment to meet him. He was just so
adorable I knew he would be snatched up, and he was, by me!
It has been nearly 7 months and I cannot imagine my life without him;
he is my shadow. I have never experience such love and
devotion from a dog; he is a snuggle bug whose tail never seems to stop
wagging and has the most ferocious bark I have ever heard for such a
little guy! He is also an accomplished thief! On
more than one occasion we have arrived home from the Lakewood Dog Park
with a toy or ball that we did not originally go in with, I now have to
check his mouth before leaving! Bernie is such a delight and
he makes me laugh daily with his antics which makes him the bee’s knees
in my book!
Thanks for all you do!

This is our
dog Buster. We got him from the shelter when he was 2 years old in
2001. He has been our comfort through 2 open heart surgeries and 2 hip
replacements. Always ready to lay a gentle paw on your arm, as if to
say "It will be ok." He has been a joy to have as a part of the family.

When we
brought Riley home he was emaciated and had kennel cough (yuck!), but
he got healthy quickly and we really bonded. Now I feel so safe having
big Riley around. I call him my Labra-Doberman! He's beautiful and
shiny. Whether we go for walks or hang around the house, life is better
with Riley.
We thank our friends at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter for all they
did for Riley and us!
Sincerely,
The Markiewicz's
P.S. Forgot to include that Riley was named "Slim" and he was a Dick
Goddard Dog. We adopted him June 22, 2006. |
