Happy Tails!
When
I went looking for a second dog, I really took my time. I
wanted
to find the right dog. But in the end, I didn't pick the
right
dog. He picked me! I knelt down to say hello to
this
guy. As I walked away, he jumped on his hind legs and cried
out. I never heard such a cry! It was like he was
saying
“Please pick me.” Well, that was all it took!
Charlie
came home with me and he has been such a joy ever since. I’ve
never had such an affectionate dog, and he provides hours of
entertainment. I laugh watching him play with his two
“siblings”
and while he patrols the backyard. I think his mission is to
rid
every deer, bird, squirrel, rabbit, and bumblebee from our
yard.
He loves car rides, walks, lots of hugs and kisses, and his agility
classes. He may even be a star someday!
When he
gives me a look, a wag of his tail, or a big sloppy kiss, I just feel
so good knowing that I rescued a wonderful, loving dog.
Charlie’s
the best! Oh, and about that cry….I’ve never heard it
again!!!!

My
name is 3paws. I was born with only 3 legs. I am a
3-year
old Collie/Chow mix. I was adopted from the animal shelter
when I
was 2 months old. My owner takes good care of me, feeds me
and
plays with me. I am in a loving family. I love to
play in
the snow and sleep for a while. Look when my owner woke me
up. I'm almost full of snow. I'm a "Happy Tail". |
In
February of 2007 I adopted my best friend Cesar from the Cuyahoga
County Kennel. My black lab buddy, whom I adopted from the
kennel
13 years earlier had passed away. I was heartbroken and empty.
1
week later I went on the internet to see what dogs were available for
adoption from the kennel, cage #40 caught my eye. I went up
to
see him. I loved him the minute he sat on my foot and pressed
his
back against my leg as if to say take me home.
Much to my dismay
I was informed he had heartworm, and the kennel offered me a chance to
choose another dog, but I didn't want another dog...I was already in
love with my Cesar. But with the help of the kennel and a
very
good vet Cesar is cured.
Please do not be afraid to adopt a dog
who test positive for heartworm, you see the kennel tested Cesar and he
was positive. He got the help he needed and he has to stay on
heartworm pills year round. I would have never given him up
because he had heartworm. I love this dog. He has
made my
life full again. He saved me from my sorrow and I saved him
with
the help of the kennel and a great vet from heartworm.

Yoda
was at the shelter for six months. He had a broken pelvis and
bladder stones. His pelvis was broken so badly he could
barely
walk, when he tried to walk his back legs would collapse.
After
his pelvis healed, he had to have surgery to have his bladder stones
removed.
He is a remarkable and resilient little
dog. He withstood all of that and still has a wonderful,
sunny
outlook on life. He is six years old and can out run and out
play
any dog I know. He loves everyone, including other dogs and
has
brought so much joy to my home.
Thanks,

I'm
writing to tell you about my dog Baxter and how great he is.
I
adopted a year-old hound/shepherd mix in May 2005. At the
time I
became his owner because he met my size, hair length, and temperament
needs; little did I know the great dog he would become for me.
Baxter,
as he is now known, was already house trained and fit in nicely at
home. He picked up on the daily routine quickly and started
becoming my best friend. He loves to cuddle and give hugs,
he's
active and loves to go for walks and bike rides. He has never
met
another dog he doesn't like and just wants to play and have a good
time. Additionally, he is a great guard-dog and makes me feel
so
much safer. His ability to learn is amazing because he just
wants
to please; his trick repertoire includes sit, stay, lay, down, come
here, speak, wave bye, "say your prays," army crawl, roll over, play
dead, fetch, and give hugs. He is such a sweet and caring dog
that everyone loves him, especially me.
Now three years
later, I couldn't be happier with my decision to adopt this mixed breed
dog that has become my best friend, and I couldn't imagine my life
without him.
Much Thanks,
Robyn |
